Kosher Lunch

If you checked off the Kosher meal when you registered you can find your lunch in room "Potomac A". We only ordered Kosher food for those who requested it, so please don't eat there if you didn't request it, so that there is enough Kosher food for those who need it. Thanks!

We are back at Lansdowne for 2010!

Big Announcement! Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back...

Last year was so nice, we are going to do it twice! That's right everyone, we have been invited back to the AAA Four-Diamond Award-Winning Lansdowne Resort for CFUnited 2010 and we have RSVP-ed with a resounding, YES!

I mean really, how could we resist? We are looking forward to seeing the faces of the friendly and accommodating staff, checking in to the sumptuously appointed guest rooms and suites, learning and networking in the award-winning conference facility, and getting in some playtime on the championship golf course and sparkling aquatic complex. Only the best for us please! Stay tuned for the code to book your hotel room at a discounted rate, we will be sharing the room block information shortly. Please let us know right away if you are interested in room sharing this year so we can begin putting something in the works. We have locked down the resort for July 28th - July 31st, 2010.

But wait, there's more! There were a lot of people who contacted us because they have wanted to register but needed to have exact dates/location in order to. For those people who missed out on the last early bird because they were waiting for this announcement, we are going to be offering the 11/30/09 early bird price from now until Monday 12/21/2009 at midnight. To take advantage of this offer, use the code EBEXT50, when you register.

We are so thrilled to be back at Lansdowne! 2009 was truly special thanks to the location, but you don't have to take our word for it. Here are some comments we got after last year that really convinced us to come back for 2010...

"And the location... one word, unparalleled. I mean, this place was a gem waiting to be discovered. I'm going to reserve the majority of this blog post just to talk about the conference center / hotel. Not that the sessions don't deserve more attention (they were beyond my expectations), but after all the previous CFUnited conferences I've been to (which were great), I never realized how much better an event can be just with subtle improvements at an event location." - Jeff Coughlin

"I really can't say enough good things about the location. The Lansdowne Resort was a beautiful location, it had great rooms, amazing food - and snacks and drinks were available all day, every day! - incredibly helpful staff and a good bar." - Sean Corfield

"Comfy room, lap pool, play pools, plenty of space to hang about, etc. There are advantages to being closer in to DC, but I'd come back here again, for sure. In particular, the outdoor patio was perfect for the evenings, and it was remarkably pleasant outside after the sun went down." - Barney Boisvert

CFUnited 2010 Registration Open

What? Registration for CFUnited 2010 is open!?!

Heck yeah. I talked to several people at CFUnited and ask "If we reduced the price, would you register tomorrow?" Enough people actually said yes. So I'm giving it a shot. Mainly because this helps us secure the venue for next year. The size of this event makes us limited to the number of venues we can occupy. If we have the deposit available early we can negotiate on room prices and more to help keep the costs down.

So please help us in this effort!

We are opening 200 tickets at $499 for the 3 day price. But we also have to cut it off September 25th. So tell your friends who didn't have the opportunity to go this year. It is more affordable than ever. Once you have your ticket, that's half the battle!

2010 will rock and you might just be surprised that we will be able to make it even better.

Oh yeah, and a special gift will be also be added to each of the first 200 registered attendees. And you know Liz's gifts can be special. ;-)

We are 90% sure the event is in August

The event will be in the MD/DC/VA area

CFUnited mobile schedule

"What's Next?" App by Raymond Camden

We've all been there... at a conference, probably carrying a huge laptop bag filled with sponsor swag in one hand coffee on the other... trying to rush to figure out what session to attend next when you realize that little printed schedule of the conference sessions you were holding is lost somewhere in the session you were sitting in hours ago... *sigh*

Thanks to Ray's new "What's Next?" app the paper schedule is no more and you wont be late to another session! The app lets you quickly browse the conference schedule right from your mobile phone. It lists session based on the day and time and even has a nice search and "What's Next?" feature so you can quickly see what sessions are coming up. It even lists the speaker name, room name, number of seats, and the description of the session all on one page. If you are attending CFUnited next week be sure to bookmark http://mobile.cfunited.com on your phone.

** For those of you who would prefer the printed schedule, don't fret we will printing the schedule of session like we have in the past.

Ajay Sathurlui - Session Raffle details

A message from Ajay Sathuluri - Speaker

CFUnited is next week!

I'll be presenting on Wednesday on "Dynamic Load Testing with Webserver Stress Tool". I'll be covering Basic, parameterized, and scripted load testing. It's a fairly inexpensive tool, but can do some powerful testing.

This week I also found out I'll be able to raffle 3 software licenses: 2 licenses for Paessler Webserver Stress Tool, and 1 for FusionReactor server monitor! ($1000 worth of software). Licenses sponsored by Paessler and Intergral, respectively.

Topics:

* Test Types

* setting up a set of URLs

* Multiple users

* URLs bound to a dataset (parameterize the tested URLs, merge with a dataset; one set for each user)

* Scripting, instead of list of URLs

* Simulate multiple simultaneous CF sessions

* How to simulate AJAX calls

* Test results and logs; where's the most useful information

Need a ticket to CFUnited?

Do you really want to attend CFUnited next week but aren't able to because of costs? We have a few discounted tickets that we can offer in exchange for some help at the event. Send an email to info (at) cfunited.com with subject "I want to attend" and tell us why you want to be at CFUnited. This is perfect for those of you who live in the DC area and don't need to worry about travel arrangements.
